( I can't think off all of them off the top of my head but all the usual stuff.) Pretty much everything short of nuking the machine. Disabling Hardware Graphics Acceleration.
MY OFFICE IS FREEZING AND MAKES ME TRIED WINDOWS
We have tried:Īpplying Office and Windows updates. There doesn't appear to be any issues in Office itself. Two of the workstations are running Office 2016 and one is running 2016 on one computer and 2013 (I think) on the other computer. It is very similar in Excel and Powerpoint. These events can be viewed in the error logs. If you click off of the current screen the program will shutdown. For example Outlook will begin to act slowly and will no longer allow the user to pull up blank emails or down load attachments.

The company uses primarily Outlook, but when they use Word and Excel and Powerpoint, these applications crash as well. The first crash takes place about 2 hours in to the day and then they get more frequent as the day goes on. They are probably the most heavily used computers in that office. All three of these workstations are using two computers with multiplicity KVM software. So they're seeing what their options are.I've got a client who has been having issues with Microsoft Office crashing on 3 of their workstations. He said they have to keep it at 55 (!!) degrees to cool a room of computers next to ours. So he's talking to the person in charge of it. Now I'm a raging sexist for nearly making a justification for why I'm looking for women's perspective on a women's forum.Įdit 2: My boss noticed my bundling up and then asked each of us in the group if we're cold (I don't want the termostat changed if everyone else is fine). God forbid I make a comment on something I've seen all over the news months ago that could possibly explain why I and multiple other women I've known at multiple jobs are always colder then the men we work with. What else can I do to stay warm at work that I haven't thought of?Įdit 1: Ignore the very first comment.
I have coffee in the morning but it gets cold or I finish it, then I'm cold again. We aren't allowed to have any heating devices (like heated blankets or space heaters). I wear layers, my winter coat, fingerless gloves (so I can still type and stuff), headphones that cover my ears, and have a fleece blanket on ALL DAY. I almost want to set myself on fire to warm up. I have hypothyroidism so I feel cold on a normal day. This morning my boss told me that the crows out side pick the seals off the windows and that there are some gaps you could stick a pencil thru. So I need suggestions from the female work force.

I know most offices set their temps for men, so being cold at work is a big problem for a lot of women.
